As the digital tax revolution continues, our management accounts service has evolved and expanded to help you navigate the complexities of Making Tax Digital (MTD) and cloud accounting, so you can concentrate on making your business a success.
Every business is different, so we never rely on a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Instead, our team of digital accounting experts will work closely with you to understand your current business and future ambitions, before identifying the best online accounting system for your needs, today and tomorrow.
Whether they recommend Sage Business Cloud, Xero or another system approved by HMRC, you’ll have constant support as your business transitions to a new cloud accounting platform, with ongoing advice about how to maximise the digital technology and make it work for your company.
And whether you require an in-house level of resource, an accountant that can work in partnership with your finance teams or an arm’s length advisor for ad hoc consultancy, we have the expertise and resource in place to support you while Making Tax Digital develops.
Did you know?
We are experts in digital accounting, having already helped thousands of SMEs and larger businesses embrace a range of online accountancy software, including Sage Business Cloud and Xero. Our advice is and will remain to be that a business must only switch to a technology that is Making Tax Digital compliant, and which helps you achieve greater efficiency and accuracy in your accounting functions.
Which platform is best for me?
We promote a variety of business-friendly cloud accounting platforms, including those from Xero and Sage. Both are affordable, can be easily integrated into your internal processes and offer a wealth of features to help you keep on top of your business finances.
Digital tax platforms help you achieve a real time overview of your financial position as a business. Doing so, while harnessing our accounting consultancy, will see you achieve better decision making, more streamlined operations and will take you one step closer to your growth ambitions.
Our qualified team are also on hand to support you with:
Invoicing and payment isn’t clear cut for us, as we have a staged payments process. Sage, for us, didn’t make this process easier but Xero has transformed the way we work.
In a single glance, I can manage all our sales invoices, statements and reconciliations, and doing so has saved us mammoth amounts of time which has just made our whole business more efficient.
Regardless of your level of financial knowledge, Xero makes everything so simple. Plus, it’s enabled us to go paperless. Before, we had reams and reams of paper, but now everything is cloud-based, the need for paper copies has been almost eradicated.
Champion took care of us, every step of the way during our transition to Xero and are still always at the end of the phone. No question feels too silly, and their answers are straightforward. Champion suggesting Xero has been a revelation for our business, and I cannot speak highly enough of their customer service.
Accountant champions digital transformation for holistic therapy charity
Businesses which face increasing pressure to identify savings and make efficiencies are using digital accounting as a way of creating new resource which can instead be plugged into growing the organisation.
While courses and tutorials are available for business owners, charity founders and those who are self-employed, to simplify digital accounting platforms, often by doing it all yourself without the helping hand of a trusted accounting expert can lead to hours spent learning to understand how the platform works.
This was the case for Wendy Scott, a mental health pharmacist and founder of charity Wintergreen, which provides holistic therapy to armed forces veterans and emergency services personnel suffering from stress, anxiety, PTSD, depression and trauma.
Running the charity part-time alongside her role as a pharmacist, Wendy had invested in digital accounting software many years ago, but over the course of time had reverted back to physical accounting which she was more familiar with.
During a Cheshire Connect event, which matches small businesses with larger organisations offering their skills and expertise to help them grow, Wendy was matched with Heather Stockton from Champion’s Chester office after she applied for a refresher course on her digital accounting software, Wave.
Wendy said: “Heather instantly understood the type of support I needed; it isn’t that I’m not familiar with digital accounting, I simply needed a refresher course and to understand how it’s changed over time, and what I need to think about so my package is set up for the future.
“Heather and I had a meeting where she analysed my existing set up, made sure everything was up to date and gave me an additional tutorial on how to make better use of automation so that digital accounting actually ends up saving me time and money that I can put to better use.
“Doing what Heather did myself would’ve taken days, if not weeks, so her expertise has made a huge difference to me. Accounting is something that needs to be done but it’s not something I’ve ever found simple before; Heather has made sure that our platform is set up in such a way that digital accounting will never become a burden and I know she’s available to help with anything else – such as filing year-end accounts – should I need her support.”
