Champion’s charities division brings together a team with over 25 years experience
of providing solutions to the unique issues facing charities and not-for-profit
organisations.
Our team’s in-depth and specialist sector knowledge makes us ideally placed
to deliver the highest levels of service to our charity clients. In fact, the charity
sector represents a sizable part of our business and we currently act for clients
in areas including:
- Schools and education
- Religious and contemplative orders
- Charities providing services in the field of education
- Charities providing services in the field of learning disabilities
- Registered social landlords
- Not for profit organisations
- Grant making charities
- Charities working in the theatre and the arts
Our empathy with the work of charities, coupled with a deep understanding of the
legal and accounting framework within which they must operate, has led to our appointment
as “Trusted Advisor” to charities of various sizes across the North
West.
INVESTMENTS – we have extensive experience of monitoring and interpreting
investments for charities and work closely with a range of investment advisors to
Trustees.
ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS – we have considerable knowledge of the ethical
considerations which almost always arise when Trustees are faced with investment
decisions.
FINANCIAL AND LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES – we pride ourselves on our ability
to guide Trustees through the minefield of financial and legal responsibilities
facing them.
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE – a number of our charity team members are trustees
of local charities, meaning when it comes to understanding Trusteeship, we can place
ourselves firmly in your shoes.

Testimonials
“It is four years since the B.I.R.D Charity became a client of Champion.
When selecting an accountant to work with, it was important to find a company who
were proactive, customer focussed, and who had both experience of charity accounting
and a real empathy for the work of the Charity. Champion Accountants have fulfilled
this criteria over the last four years and the support and advice given has been
invaluable. The help and support of the team at Champion is greatly appreciated.”
