3. Think like a prospective buyer

In order to sell your business, think like the buyer and identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of your business. For example:

•  Company issues – are there any issues you need to resolve, such as property disputes or employee matters?

•  Management team – what experience and qualities does your team have?

•  Financial issues – what is historic and future performance?
