Debbie Thorn FCA

Position: Director
Team: Blackpool

As director at Champion Blackpool, Debbie oversees the office alongside David Hardy. She is also responsible for a wide portfolio of clients, and is the responsible individual for all audit work in Blackpool.

After working as an office junior at a small accountancy firm, Debbie joined Haworth Moore Chartered Accountants in 1983 as a trainee accounting technician, completing her ACA in 1991. Debbie went on to become partner at Haworth Moore at just 28, and was integral to the subsequent merger of Haworth Moore with Champion.

Debbie uses her experience to support a variety of clients, but amongst her specialist sectors are: charities, solicitors, manufacturing clients, retail, and property. Debbie continues to work alongside her clients personally, and has built numerous long-standing relationships, supporting some family businesses into their 2nd and even 3rd generations.

Outside of work, Debbie enjoys climbing hills around Lancashire and The Lakes, eating good food, and spending time with her friends and godchildren. She also enjoys holidaying in Italy, having recently learnt to speak the language.

Every day is different – I really enjoy meeting clients and helping them through the accounts and tax process. Being their trusted adviser for many years and knowing they rely on me is hugely rewarding.
